The variable speed drive (VSD) cubicle is superior to the traditional fixed speed machines due to the cool canopy design. The electrical components remain cool throughout operation, resulting in an enhanced lifetime for the electrical components. The unit also features a dedicated drive for the interior permanent magnet (iPM) technology motor. Heat dissipation of the inverter takes place in a separate compartment.
The compressor is powered by an oil cooled, interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor. This compact, custom designed motor exceeds NEMA premium efficiency standards and requires no cooling air flow or re-greasing, which increases uptime and reliability while virtually eliminating motor maintenance. The pressure-tight, oil-cooled drive system has no gears or belts and no shaft seal, making it virtually maintenance-free. The IP66 enclosure provides you with the piece of mind that your motor is well protected from any exposure to the environment.
Airend Element & Drive Train
A superior rotary screw airend element with the latest Atlas Copco asymmetric rotor profile provides for the optimum combination of maximized free air delivery with low power consumption. The unique vertical drive train design minimizes the footprint of the GA-VSD+ offering superior flexibility for our customer’s installation plans.
Sentinel Inlet Valve
The sentinel inlet valve provides the GA-VSD+ with no blow off losses, without an inlet arrestor. The valve doesn’t have an inlet valve so it’s maintenance free design. The end result is that the compressor doesn’t have to blow-off or unload which saves our customers compressed air, energy and money.
High Efficiency Cooling Fan
The unit’s high-efficiency cooling fan has extremely low noise levels and is based on the newest technology.
Electronic No-Loss Drain
The electronic no-loss water drain comes standard to the unit, which offers an efficient way of removing condensate without any loss of compressed air. Designers have also included a manual bypass, so that in the event of a power failure, condensate can still be removed.
Elektronikon Graphic Microprocessor Controller
The GA 7-15VSD+ compressors are equipped with the state-of-the-art Elektronikon Graphic controllers. The advanced unit has integrated smart algorithms to reduce system pressure and energy consumption. The pre-installed operating system comes standard with warning indicators, maintenance scheduling and online status visualization.
